The East Asian Games is a multi-sport event organised by East Asian Games Association (EAGA) and held every four years since 1993 among athletes from East Asian countries.

Teams

All EAGA\'s members able to take part in the Games, they are:

People\'s Republic of Chinaname designated to the team of the People\'s Republic of China – no athlete from the special administrative regions has represented People\'s Republic of China in any of the past editions of the East Asian Games
Guam, United States
Hong Kong, Chinaas Hong Kong in 1993 and 1997
Japan
DPR Korea (North Korea)
Republic of Korea (South Korea)
Macau, Chinaas Macau in 1993 and 1997
Mongolia
Chinese Taipeiname designated to the Republic of China (Taiwan)

Kazakhstan is a former member of EAGA, however since it became an European Olympic Committee member, they do not take part in these Games anymore.

These countries and territories are mostly in the northern part of East Asia, and there is a similar event called the South East Asian Games for Southeast Asian countries.
